About us
VU University Press Amsterdam is an academic publishing house that connects new and established authors to a wide audience of readers. We focus on publications that emerge from scientific research and higher education institutions. Our products include research monographs, edited volumes, study books, PhD dissertations, professional books, Liber Amicorums, essays and popular-scientific works.
Each publication proposal is reviewed to determine the most suitable publishing format. This can be Open Access or print – or a combination of both. We offer our authors intensive guidance, high-quality manuscript editing and design services, and international marketing opportunities.
The publication of popular books is done in collaboration with Uitgeverij Balans. Our international rights are represented by Marianne Schönbach Literary Agency. Literary agent Dorine Holman is co-responsible for PR and marketing. Ef&Ef Media is in charge of representation.
We collaborate with universities, research institutes and higher education institutions on all content-related issues.
